The Engineering department provides technical services and coordinates engineering services, in conjunction with qualified Engineering Consultants, EPCOR Water Services and Public Works Services for the maintenance and management of all municipal infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, trails, water, sewer and storm sewer systems). Engineering Services reviews infrastructure design and installation activities for new developments. Increasingly, project management is handled by Engineering staff. Additional services provided to municipal departments and citizens include: all municipal mapping and G.I.S. functions, road right-of-way administration (easement/encroachment/utility right-of-way agreements, temporary use: blasting, excavation, road and weight restriction permits), monitor the traffic light system, traffic/sign review and implementation, small/medium/large development reviews and site inspections, groundwater level monitoring, infrastructure asset management, Engineering Design Guidelines and engineering-related inquiries.
