Affordable Services Program
The Affordable Services Program is a coordinated community response that provides eligible residents with increased access to supports aimed at making Canmore a livable community for all.
With one application, the Affordable Services Program provides access to multiple community supports and services.
How do I apply for the program?
To apply for the program please download the Affordable Services Program Application Form and bring the completed application to the Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) office which is located in the Canmore Civic Centre at 902-7th Ave. Please bring all required documentation. Digital copies are of documents are accepted.
You will need to bring the following documentation:
1. Proof of Income:
- Most recent Notice of Assessment showing line 150 total income issued by Canada Revenue Agency
2. Proof of Residency for at least 3 months with one of the following:
- Driver's License with Canmore address
- Utility Bill with Canmore address
- Lease Agreement with Canmore address
- Financial Information with Canmore address
3. Proof of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or Closed Work Permit with one of the following:
- Canadian Passport
- Canadian Birth Certificate
- Permanent Resident's card
- Closed Work Permit
Eligible individuals are provided with an Affordable Service Program Identification card, and will have a chance to sit down with FCSS staff to discuss affordability supports in Canmore.

There are two tiers for the Affordable Services program. Each tier provides different discounts for services. Within each tier, there are different income thresholds for different family sizes. To learn about the income thresholds and tiers, look at the income threshold table above under "Who is the Program For?"

In order to be consistent and fair, the thresholds are firm. We are committed to evaluating the program annually and will review and/or change the thresholds as required.

The Affordable Services Program is for Canmore residents only. We recognize that there are many individuals who are a part of the community but do not reside in Canmore. There are other options that we can explore. Please come in and talk with Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) about alternative options.

The Affordable Services Program connects qualified applicants with discounts and offers to programs, services, transportation, and recreation so that they can participate more fully in their community and have an increased sense of wellbeing. To help build the program, we need your help! If you are a business interested in impacting affordability for low-income families and individuals, your engagement in the program can support those who need it most.
You get to decide how you want to support the program!
Businesses who participate in the Affordable Services Program determine their own exclusive discount levels or offers to qualified participants.
