We’ve noticed some misinformation about our process to create an Area Redevelopment Plan for Downtown, Connect Downtown, and want to clarify a few things.
Connect Downtown is a plan to guide the evolution of our Town Centre over the next 25 years. Earlier this year, we gathered your thoughts on our community’s values and priorities. Now, we’re seeking your input via an online survey on potential ways we can support those priorities.
What you need to know:
- The strategies included at this point in the process are preliminary ideas. They do not reflect the final plan, which will be presented to Council in 2025. The Town will not consider implementation of any strategies until a final ARP is approved by Council.
- There will be further opportunities for you to provide feedback as the plan develops.
Our Next Steps:
- Winter 2025: We will review your feedback and develop a draft ARP this fall, then we'll present this draft to the community for input.
- Spring 2025: We will finalize the draft plan and present it to Council as part of the formal approval process which will include a public hearing.
