"In 2020, the town of Canmore replaced the lighting fixtures in the swimming pool area at Elevation Place with LED fixtures. This lighting upgrade will allow the Town of Canmore to save energy and reduce the Towns overall Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. This is another important step towards the Town’s corporate goal of reducing GHG emissions by 50 percent by 2030." Stephen Hanus, Facilities Manager
The aquatic centre LED lighting upgrade at Elevation Place reduces the electricity consumption in the building by approximately 98,000 kWh per year and reduces the town's Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by 70 tonnes of CO2 over its lifetime.
The town will be receiving more than $20,000 in rebate funding from the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre for the LED lighting replacement.
