In 2020 a new solar system will be installed on the roof at Elevation Place. The system will consist of 969 panels, which will produce 373 kW of power, offsetting approximately 24% of the facilities power usage.
The Town received more than $175,000 in rebate funding from the Alberta Municipal Solar Program (AMSP) for the solar photovoltaic system. The AMSP is a program through the MCCAC (Municipal Climate Change Action Centre) www.mccac.ca/programs/AMSP
Installation of the system has started and will continue through May. There will be a full day closure of the building during the project (date TBD) and some minor impacts on operations.
