Town of Canmore

Waste Management Centre Solar System Expansion

The solar system at the Waste Management Centre has been expanded. The new solar photovoltaic system consists of 241 panels, producing 94.4 kW of power. This system is in addition to the existing 231 panel 78 kW DC system currently installed on the Waste Management Centre.

  • This system offsets 100% of the power usage at the Waste Management Centre.
  • This system reduces the town’s Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by 50.3 tons of C02 annually.

The town will be receiving more than $42,000 in rebate funding from the Alberta Municipal Solar Program (AMSP) for the solar photovoltaic system. The ASMP is a program through the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre.
