Social Connections for Children, Youth, and Families

Our Program

The Town of Canmore Social Connection team focuses on building connections between children, youth, teens, and families by identifying gaps in social programming for families in the community and providing programs in alignment with these needs. Programming focuses on child and youth development and bringing families together to create a socially connected community.

Programs available through the SCS include:

Babies & Blankets (click for more information, including program dates)

Babies and Blankets is a drop-in program for prenatal and parents with infants ages 0-12 months. In this program, you and your baby will have the chance to form new relationships and have open discussions about topics of your choice.

Location: Family Connection Centre, 600A 9 St. Canmore 
Equipment Needed:
Blanket, any personal items such as snacks, water, diapers, toys

Toys Together (click for more information, including program dates)

Toys Together is a drop-in program for caregivers and young children ages 0-6. This is an open space to play, explore, and socialize with others. Toys are provided to help your children learn through free play, use their imagination, and develop gross motor skills. Families may join and leave at any point during each session time frame. Each day will finish with a circle time session of songs and storytime.

The Get Messy program is an opportunity for caregivers and their toddlers to explore new sensations and not be afraid to create a mess.
