Town Events

The Town of Canmore hosts four community celebrations each year. These events are an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate where we live, while creating vibrancy and community spirit.

Canada Day in Canmore

Community spirit shines through like no other place in the Rockies during Canmore’s Canada Day Celebrations.  On July 1, our community celebrates in a big way while retaining the small town feel of togetherness. Celebrations start at 8 a.m. with our traditional pancake breakfast and Canada Day Fun Run and extend well into the evening with a spectacular Canada Day fireworks display.

Canmore Winter Carnival

Canmore winters are fun and full of magic. Every February we come together as a community during the Canmore Winter Carnival to celebrate the best parts of our unique winter lifestyle. With two weeks of indoor and outdoor events and experiences, the Canmore Winter Carnival is a favourite for locals and visitors alike. Enjoy ice carving competitions, kids’ ice carving , skating parties, street hockey, log sawing competitions, the always entertaining pooch parade, art crawls and the popular Snowy Owl Kid N Mutt races.

Wild

Every October we celebrate the Golden Eagle’s migration through the Canadian Rockies by hosting Wild, a weekend dedicated to exploration, immersion and creativity. We gather, share, learn and enjoy Canmore’s amazing mountain setting through storytelling, guided eagle-viewing hikes, performances, birdwatching, speaker series, outdoor art experiences and much more.
