Net Zero Building Codes Readiness Assessment
Committee of the Whole heard an update on the findings from a net zero building codes readiness assessment. Recommendations from the study include integrating a climate risk and vulnerability assessment into the development application process, updating architectural and engineering design guidelines to address climate risks, encouraging energy performance public disclosure, and assessing existing Town policy for opportunities for better alignment with the Climate Emergency Action Plan.
Community Waste Audit Results
An update on the results and recommendations from the 2023 Community Waste Audit was provided. Our 2023 results are showing minimal change in what is being sent to landfill, compared to the last audit in 2015. The breakdown is as follows:
- 19% landfill waste (25% in 2015),
- 43% food waste (37% in 2015), and
- 38% recyclables (38% in 2015).

Updated the Division of Class 1 Property Bylaw Amendment Bylaw to clarify how properties under construction and not habitable will be handled in the Livability Tax Program.
