We are making it easier to get the permits and services you need from the Town of Canmore.
In November, we launched a new online portal to streamline select permit and service applications. You can now submit select permit applications using a step-by-step online portal which allows you to access information about the status of your application as a self-service at portal.canmore.ca
Based on the success of our initial launch, we are expanding our online offer to include additional planning services.
Starting in early January 2024, applicants will be required to submit the following applications online:
- File search requests,
- Environmental search requests,
- Confirmation of zoning, and
- Stamps of compliance,
in addition to the following new construction applications that are already required to be submitted via the portal:
- New construction detached dwellings development and building permits
- construction non-residential development and building permits (commercial, industrial, institutional, and mixed-use residential/commercial)
The above applications must be submitted using the portal starting in early January 2024, we will no longer accept PDF forms submitted via e-mail. All other permits and service applications will continue to be submitted by email at planning@canmore.ca.
