What Is Happening
Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Rail is conducting essential repair work at the Railway Avenue North rail crossing (at 17 St.) and the pedestrian crossing at Spice Hut / Save-on-Foods to meet Transport Canada Regulations for the safety of pedestrians, motor vehicles, and trains. The timing or scope of this work is out of the control of the Town of Canmore.
We know this will be disruptive to our downtown network, and we apologize for the delays. Thank you for your patience as CPKC Rail works to support the safety of our community. See attached map for details.
What You Need to Know
- There will be no driving, walking, or cycling access across the CPKC rail tracks at those two locations during repair work.
- Use alternate routes via the Railway Avenue South crossing (at A&W) or Spring Creek Drive.
What You Can Do
- Expect delays and give yourself extra time to get around town.
- Do not enter the closed areas during construction.
- Take alternate routes.
- Walk or bike if possible, or avoid travel.
