Connect Downtown
Council gave first reading to the Town Centre Area Redevelopment Plan Bylaw 2025-05, referred to as Connect Downtown. This visionary 25-year plan charts a pathway to a vibrant downtown, guiding growth and change in a way that ensures that we continue to recognize the heart of our downtown by aligning with our community values, reflecting and respecting our culture and environment, and honouring our storied past.
Council also gave first reading to a related Revised Land Use Bylaw Amendment 2025-13, a housekeeping item related to the ARP that clarified changes to variance powers. Council scheduled a single public hearing for Bylaws 2025-05 and 2025-13 for May 6, 2025.
