New Years Eve

New Year's Eve 2024

Join us on Dec. 31 to ring in the new year and to bid farewell to 2024! We are once again hosting an all-ages early evening indoor celebration as well as the traditional midnight fireworks display.

Interested in volunteering? You can sign up at the bottom of this page.

Ring it in at the Rink is back!

Join us at the Canmore Recreation Centre from 5 – 8 p.m. for a free all-ages evening of fun featuring fireside musical performances with local musicians, a DJ dance party, ice skating, marshmallow roasting, food vendors, and more. The evening will conclude with a pyrotechnics show at 8 p.m. with viewing from the field outside of the Canmore Recreation Centre.

Please note: All skaters ages 12 and younger must wear a CSA-certified helmet to access the ice. If you have a helmet at home, please bring it. There will not be skate rentals on site this year, please bring your own or rent in advance of coming.

There is limited parking available at the Canmore Recreation Centre. We encourage all visitors and residents to either walk or take free Roam public transportation to get to Ring it in at the Rink. The closest Roam transit stops are located on 17 St., close to 8 Ave. Visit Roam’s website for more information on route details.

Midnight Fireworks

Count down to midnight with us at Millennium Park on Dec. 31 and say hello to 2025 with an exciting fireworks display.

If you plan to make your way over to view the fireworks from Millennium Park, please note that the parking lot is closed to vehicle access beginning on Dec. 30 and will not re-open to vehicle access until Jan. 1, 2025. We encourage all residents to walk or to take Roam public transit to access the downtown on New Year’s Eve.
